TOP 10 MEDICAL SCHOOLS WITH THE HIGHEST MCAT SCORES

The medical college admission test also known as MCAT is the very first step that should be taken when applying for a medical school.

 Medical school admission officers now use the new MCAT scores as part of their criteria for selection. 

Under the new MCAT, the maximum score that should be obtained by a student is 528. Among the medical schools with the highest new MCAT scores, the student with the highest score was said to have obtained the average score of 519. 

However, this is a compiled list of the top 10 schools with the highest MCAT scores.

List of schools with the highest MCAT scores

1. Washington University School of Medicine St Louis: Students here take elective courses in their first year, get involved in research and in their fifth year of study get Master's degree.

Students here get hands-on experience in affiliated hospitals like St Louis children hospital and Barnes-Jewish hospitals. 

They are ranked 7 on research, 27 on primary care, the percentage of students who submitted a new MCAT score is at 32%, and they have the highest median MCAT score, which stands at 521. 

2. Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeon:  Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (P&S) does not run the normal four years curriculum schedule. 

Instead, their medical schedule is divided into three sections, the first which runs for one and a half year are the fundamentals, then another one year for major clinical, then another 14 months of refresher courses, projects, and Clinicals.

 It is ranked number 6 for research, ranked 51 for primary care, 28% of students submitted a new MCAT score, and the median MCAT score was at 520.

3. Vanderbilt School of Medicine:  Vanderbilt School of medicine pays special attention to cultural understanding and great communication. 

Vanderbilt School of medicine offers its students the chance to obtain dual degrees either through its Law School, School of Management, or Divinity School. 

It is ranked number 14 on research, 27 on primary care, 38% of students submitted a new MCAT score, and the median MCAT score is at 520.

4. The University of Chicago, Pritzker:  The Pritzker School of Medicine, is ranked 15 on research, ranked 34 on primary care, the percentage of students who submitted a new MCAT score was 34%, and the median MCAT score is 520. 

5. New York University School of Medicine:  The NYU School of medicine is ranked 12 on research, 44 on primary care, 42% of students submitted a new MCAT score, and the median MCAT score is 520.

6. Stanford University School of Medicine:  The Stanford University School of Medicine, is ranked 2nd in research, 41 in primary care,20% of students submitted a new MCAT score, 

and the median MCAT score is at 518.

7. Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine:  Feinberg school of medicine is ranked 17 on research, 24 on primary care, 31% of students submitted a new MCAT score, and the median MCAT score is 518.

8. Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai (NY):  The Icahn School of Medicine is ranked 22 on research, 55 on primary care, 20% of students submitted a new MCAT score, and the median MCAT score is 518.

9. John Hopkins School of Medicine:  John Hopkins is ranked number 3 on research in the United States, ranked 27 on primary care, 14% of students submitted a new MCAT score, and the median MCAT score is 518. 

10. Weill Cornell Medical College:  Weill Cornell Medical College is ranked 18 on research, ranked 41 on primary care, 23% of students submitted a new MCAT score, the median MCAT score is 518.
